Dear Students and Parents/Guardians of Ridgeview Elementary School,
Welcome Ridgeview family! Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about us.
Over the years the staff has worked on developing a positive culture. A large part of the positive culture here at Ridgeview is achieved by utilizing Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS). PBIS is an approach that some schools use to improve school safety and promote positive behavior. All teachers and other support staff in the building take part in common school-wide practices that focus on positive actions. The expectations/rules are the same in every classroom. In addition to common classroom rules, all teachers use Class Dojo to communicate with parents, and the PAX Good Behavior Game is utilized by all to support teaching students positive behaviors. Overall, PBIS teaches students how to interact with others and their surroundings which in turn students not only contribute to our Ridgeview family but to the community in which they live.
At Ridgeview we have a rigorous curriculum that is aligned with state standards. Reading instruction is based on a Comprehensive Literacy Program which includes Fundations (phonics program) for k-2nd grade, guided reading, and reading and writing across the curriculum with the use of high yield strategies. We use Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) to give additional support for our struggling readers.
I am very proud of our staff here at Ridgeview. They all work collaboratively on a regular basis to analyze instructional practices and student data to continually enhance learning for all students.
Please continue to visit our site for updates. If you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org or (440) 997-7321. Thank you for all of your support and allowing us to educate your children.
